Kathy,

At the beginning of the wedding planning, Kirk and I agreed that pictures/photography was high on the priority list.

From start to end (and beyond!) we have felt that we could not have made a better choice. All of our meetings with you helped to put us at ease. Your kindness and generosity have stood out to us so much and we are grateful for all that you have provided us far beyond the pictures, which by the way, we LOVE looking at because they are so stunning and captured above and beyond what we had hoped!

It has been so much fun to relive it all! You are incredibly talented and we are so fortunate to have had you share your gift with us.

Potter-MacDonald Wedding ~

"Planning a wedding can be very exhausting, frustrating, and emotional, yet one of the most exciting experiences in ones life. Twenty-five years ago I was a bride planning my own wedding and just recently, I was the mother of the bride helping plan my daughter’s wedding. I must say, after this wonderful experience, I have an even greater respect for my own mother, who was mother of the bride three times, within a period of three years.  By the time my daughters wedding day arrived, honestly, I was exhausted emotionally and physically and felt like I was in a fog the entire day. A few days after the wedding, I said to my husband, “I can’t wait to see the pictures so I can relive that day, I feel like there’s so much that I missed.”

             If I were to give advice to someone planning a wedding I would simply suggest, choose a good photographer. All the other vendors, the cake, food, flowers, location, make for a nice day but are quickly forgotten. Pictures last a lifetime.

            Working with Kathy Turpin was a blast. Her outgoing personality and creative style allowed for some amazing pictures. One of the things I liked about working with her was that she met with us twice before the wedding to review how the day would proceed and to allow us to communicate with her our expectations for pictures. I would encourage one to take advantage of that time, thoroughly thinking through the types of photos you desire. The day of the wedding is crazy and there is no time for thinking. Once you reach that day your photographer will think for you and hopefully capture all those special moments that are so important to you. 

            Kathy is a bundle of energy; I don’t believe I saw her sitting once the entire day of the wedding. Actually, I did once, and that was while she was quickly assembling a slide show of pre-ceremony photos, which served as enjoyable entertainment for our guest at the reception.

            As I viewed the pictures, just a few weeks after the wedding, I found myself smiling, laughing and crying; I realized Kathy allowed me to relive that very foggy and emotional day. Kimball-Marsch Wedding ~

"Planning a wedding was last on my list of things I wanted to do (because I am a failure as a woman), but once I knew we had Kathy lined up to handle the photography for our wedding, it was one fewer thing I had to worry about. I'd seen her work before and knew she'd do a great job and neither I nor my mother would have to micromanage things to make them turn out well--we could leave the details and creativity in Kathy's capable hands.

The best part was the way Kathy took charge the day of the wedding to get everything sorted out. Between us my husband and I had 16 attendants (7 groomsmen, 7 bridesmaids, a flowergirl, and an usher). They're all characters, and some are naturally opinionated and dominant, but Kathy wrangled all 18 of us flawlessly. This included getting all of us (minus the flowergirl) into a snowy field for some pretty fantastic creative shots. Your average photographer would probably not be capable of convincing 7 women in short dresses to voluntarily walk into a field covered with a foot and a half of snow to stage a snowball fight. But Kathy did, and all our photos turned out great!
