The Journey Continues.....
Welcome and thanks for checking out my photo blog ~ The Journey Continues...
During a recent long, across-country road trip, I photographed images along the way to catalog my experiences, discoveries and sights to savor and to share with others. Although the original 3000 mile journey had a final destination in Pittsburgh, PA, my journey has not ended, nor has my desire to see and experience life through my eyes, my heart and my lens.
This blog is meant to continue the journey and I invite you to join me and hopefully receive joy, tenderness, inspiration and mostly a smile. Rather than a 3000 mile trek with a final destination, it is a moment by moment journey on the road trip of daily life, capturing images of what I see, whether a new view of a flower, cracks in the sidewalk, a beautiful bride, a fun, people-filled event, or an eager high school senior on the edge of adulthood.
I hope you will enjoy coming along side me on this journey of seeing.

Seeing in Boalsburg
I spent the day with my adorable family, but stole away for some fun shots. Still seeing new and interesting things. I loved this covered walkway/bridge. I especially like the sun through the wood and the interesting patterns it makes. I would like to go back when the sun is shining at the right angle to see the sun/shadow lines even more distinct.

Mix & Mingle with Pittsburgh Authors at the Cooper-Siegel Community Library in Fox Chapel
There are some amazing women authors here in Pittsburgh and I had the privilege of photographing the kick off to their author events.
The event was held at the Cooper-Siegel Community Library in Fox Chapel, north of Pittsburgh.
I'm sharing a couple pics of the event. Events are always fun to attend and photograph. People are so happy, smiling and interesting.
Pittsburgh Shoot at Point Park
I had a ton of fun with this shoot! Of course it helps to have such a handsome model....who also happens to be my son. :-)
This was our first modeling shoot and I think it turned our quite well, for both of us. It started out sunny in the morning, but ended up being a cloudy day when we started. Well.... that's Pittsburgh....:)
And we got to do lunch after, which was great.... 5 Guys hamburgers. I couldn't finish mine, but still delicious.

A Park Walk...Seeing Small
Saturday, we hiked around Frick Park and pleasantly got 'lost'. Well, not really, but we took some different paths and turns and found surprises along the way. We also were blessed to speak with a couple men on a park bench, mostly about the two very cute puppies I have with me, but still very nice to speak to nice people.
Other than the Rosie shot I couldn't resist, I shot 'small' today. I especially like the two leaves on the concrete. We simply walk over theses on a daily basis, yet they are always waiting for us to stop and admire their texture and seeming simplicity. The strawberries are growing in the middle of the lawn at home... tenacity of the strawberry!
Then there are the flowers of Frick Park. I've captured just a few. Their fragrance is so sweet and delightful!

'Seeing' in Regent Square, near Pittsburgh, PA
Regent Square, Pittsburgh: Walking everyday with my dogs, it's so easy to just past by sights. But with my camera in my hand, I can look through the lens and see things differently, at different angles. We you look at a common object differently, there can be beauty and interest in even the most mundane and seemingly annoying subject such as cracks in a sidewalk. Mostly, we think of them as a tripping hazard, and yes, I have had my share of trips on these. But if seen on a different level, there is texture, smallness, simplicity.
Flowers reaching through a fence...a neighborhood chalk board fence...and a delightful, colorful bike rack at the local coffee shop.
