The Journey Continues.....
Welcome and thanks for checking out my photo blog ~ The Journey Continues...
During a recent long, across-country road trip, I photographed images along the way to catalog my experiences, discoveries and sights to savor and to share with others. Although the original 3000 mile journey had a final destination in Pittsburgh, PA, my journey has not ended, nor has my desire to see and experience life through my eyes, my heart and my lens.
This blog is meant to continue the journey and I invite you to join me and hopefully receive joy, tenderness, inspiration and mostly a smile. Rather than a 3000 mile trek with a final destination, it is a moment by moment journey on the road trip of daily life, capturing images of what I see, whether a new view of a flower, cracks in the sidewalk, a beautiful bride, a fun, people-filled event, or an eager high school senior on the edge of adulthood.

Photography in Pittsburgh
I'm spending some time in Pittsburgh visiting family and took some time shooting what I see. Enjoy and please comment and let me know which is your favorite.
Best Photography Sites in the Rocklin Quarry District
I spent a couple hours on Saturday wandering around the old quarry sites in old Rocklin. There are some great shooting locations and I found some very interesting old relics and buildings. I had some fun seeing with my camera and being creative once I got to the editing.
Photography is about seeing things, about stopping to look at the simple, the small or large, seeing what one would normally step over or overlook. That is one part of the photography I love. It can be a simple object or a captured smile from someone who maybe wasn't real comfortable in front of the camera.

A Walk in the Field
I love to walk in the field close to my house, especially with my doggies. The wildflowers are in full bloom and amazing right now. Love California in the Spring!
Sometimes the beauty is right at your feet, if we can stop to see it. Hope you see some beauty of your own today!
Old Town Sacramento
Took a bit of time Sunday afternoon and walked around Old Town Sacramento. It's fun and interesting to see what simple things one can capture that isn't a normal 'touristy' shot. I really like close up shots of simple things, like the train part or the stairwell.
Pittsburgh Places
On Friday, I took a drive around Pittsburgh to seek out some photo shoot locations. I love the age of the the buildings, bridges and walls in this city. Even old dirty underpasses can be interesting when seen differently. I imagine a graceful dancer or a sweet high school senior or a tender, romantic couple set as a contrast to the grunge and graffiti of the underpass. There are so many places to shoot in this city... I have more hunting and searching to do.
Of course, I couldn't pass up taking a couple shots of the flowers growing across the street from the underpass....another contrast; fresh and colorful against the old and dirty.
